It Worked For Me

The Most Important Thing is to Try everyday
at least if you won’t act, just do “The Thinking” daily
One Day,
When the gods give you a proper Knock on the head
for Toying with your Talent,
You Will Act
Somehow it Worked for me.

The Year 2018

*The Year 2018..*

The year 2018 began with a bang..With a bang? Of course!! With a bang..or rather Bangers! Cos in my neighbourhood, the year hadnt formally started until the atmosphere was pervaded with knock out sounds emanating from the various bangers..

The night before I had gone to the Celestial church beside my house to dance my heart out..From Shaku shaku to Azonto to Skelewu, I was just swinging my pelvis to the Lord with no care, while singing with my frog like voice..But who cares? As long as Jah was impressed..

I remembered when it was 10 minutes to the new year..When we suspended the praise and worship session, and started praying…The Prophet said we should pray like wounded lions.. Not willing to be outdone by my neighbour, I removed my shirt and started shaking my head vigourously while shouting, “Poverty Die Die Die!, No more insufficient funds! Village pipu hands off by fire!!

Then the coundown began, 5 4 3 2 1, Happy new year!!! In the spirit of the celebration, I ran like Usain Bolts to my Crush side and i enveloped her in a bear hug while making sure i tapped enough currents.. “Happy new year Chidimma” I said in a naughty tone while relishing the bodily contact… This year will be sweet, i said to myself while walking to my seat..

2018, the year of lofty expectations and aspirations, i told myself while penning a long list of resolutions. “I will learn how to swim, I will open a blog, I will finish the bible 4 times, I will ask Chidimma out and so on..

January crawled by like a snail, February followed suit limping along, March not willing to be left behind marched with dangerous speed trying to catch April by her tails.. “May I never be late for June’s wedding in July”, I prayed. At least the August visitor will understand September and October’s dilemna as I celebrated my birthday in November..

Now I am in December; Precisely nine days to the end of the year and i am yet to even finish Genesis, not to talk of opening a blog..I am swimming now tho, in my dreams if i may add..Lest I forget, Chidimma is now dating a Yahoo boy and i am currently serving my fatherland..

In all, I am grateful for the gift of family and friendship which i have been able to enjoy to a greater dimension.. Enough of this small talk joor. Jide!! Guy, shey u don see alert for allawee! Hunger dey wire pessin jare.

The Forgotten Celebrant

The forgotten celebrant

It’s exactly one year ago, when my parents threw a huge birthday party in honor of my born day.

Just a year gone, yet the sad experience I had still remains unforgettable in my heart, and I wish this year’s will be with much difference or better still, no celebration.

It was a huge celebration with more than one thousand guests in attendance, every one ate to stupor; they all danced and till they could dance no more. The chef was the best in town; the M.C wowed every one, and the DJ hmmmmm… Speechless!

The party was meant to be a memorable one for all the attendees especially me but little did I know it will turn out to be my worse nightmare.
I was left out of my own birthday celebration. Alot to eat and drink, enough fun but I was never in the picture of the event.

Seemed everyone cared more about themselves and less about me who was supposed to be the reason for the celebration.

To crown it all, three days after the celebration the camera man came back with the photo shoots but I was missing in all the pictures, neither was I captured even by mistake

Which popped the following questions by my dad; why was the celebrant not in the picture?
Why was she forgotten? Why did I spend so much if the celebrant is not pleased? Why the celebration? Why celebrate if the celebrant won’t be featured?

I shook my head sadly and said, “Dad, you and mum are also guilty because both of you were not also around.”

And as I rememberd my birthday today, it occurred to me that Christmas is just one day away. How do you plan to spend your Christmas?
Will the celebrant be featured in your celebration?
Will He be in the picture of the celebration?

Remember the reason for the season and don’t leave out the celebrant! As for me, no more celebration of birthdays. self-love all the way!!

Sweet Life

Oh sweet life!
Sweet journey of life
I stood by the ocean
The life of treasure became my view
Every creature enjoying life to its sweetness
I stood and I marvelled
I marvelled at the wonders of creatures
Hmmm…..
Truly life is a wonder
I should have kept my view at life’s wonders,
But off, I took the path of my journey
Realising that my destination is such a distance
By now I know that I have to be committed to this journey of life.

Oh sweet life,
I followed your steps and almost lost me.
I listen to your melody and almost danced off time
Oh sweet life,
Noooo! I want to make a profound adjustment,
I want to enjoy life to the fullest,
I want to enjoy to smile and laugh
I want to gaze at the stars and marvel at its beauty
Oh sweet life
I want you to smile at me when I am aged;
When I am 100 years, may i look at life with joy,
May I fight only the right fight.
Oh sweet life!
May we all keep the faith.

I Love My Enemies

I love it when people look down on me.
I love it when people take advantage of me
I love it when people think they are wiser than me.
I love it when people think I am a fool for being simple.
I love it when people take my act of forgiveness for amnesia
I love it when people take my gentility for weakness
I love it when people insult me.
I love it when I am being back stabbed
I love it because it has taught me who to avoid, who to trust and who to  devote my time to. Above all it helped me to know who my real friends are and how to place them right exactly where they belong.
And this just makes me love them more, because deep inside me they make me a better person

It has taught me leasons I never learnt within the four walls of  a school.  I don’t beef them but I have become wiser and i see the world through them.

Work As Worship

 WORK AND WORSHIP

in the beginning, God created the earth and God said to man be faithful, multiply  and replenish the earth and subdue it, man became a co producer with GOD.
Man took care of the garden  , he was occupied with that which God has given him
Man was happy and fulfilled doing his task, Man enjoyed God’s presence doing his work
Man was provided for, sustained and maintain , Man enjoy communion simply carrying out his task , Man was never a slave of his work, Man understand his mission in the garden,Man’s work was his total response to God’s instruction.
Man thrive on God’s instruction, he kept and cultivate the plants.
Man was blessed, His work as an extension of his worship to God.
WORK is WORSHIP
a dichotomy of worship and work a deception, true work should be worship in expression. every work given to man by GOD is a mission which is a worship .
work is worship  , Be faithful in your work.

My Bad Egg experience

This morning, I woke up  With the plan of making pancake, heading straight to the kitchen, I grabbed my bowl, picked the eggs from the fridge and started breaking the eggs one after the other, first, second, third and fourth but low and behold the fourth egg was bad and was already mixed with the good eggs and had already spoilt the good ones. All my effort to Separate the good from the bad was in vain as all the Eggs were already smelling.
I went to throw out the Eggs with a heavy heart because they were the last eyes I had in the house. Suddenly I heard a voice saying: “if only you had taken time to break the eggs in individual bowls, you would avoided this because you would have had time to observe each of them”
hmm mm shaking my head came the three great Lessons.
Lessons one: Excellence should be our watch word. A tiny and insignificant detail can mess up our lives if we do not pay attention to the tiny details.. Remember what is worth doing is worth doing well.

Lessons two: just as it is with selection of friends, you could have 10 good friends just as my three good eggs but one bad friend is enough to cause a life time of pain. This could affect you as an individual or your other friends as well, so take your time and be careful in selecting your friends. Smiling and thinking of how true this could be another reality hit me which led to my third lesson.
Lesson three :How about having lots of good attitude and one bad one?  It doesn’t matter how good you are one bad attitude will surly destroy your whole reputation, no wonder the saying ” it takes Grace to lift a man to a greater height but it takes character to keep him and sustain him there, every great man is a man of character”. It’s always good to examine our character to avoid one bad egg.

simplest – but-most-important

This may be the shortest post ever in this platform, but most importantly, Its always good to use the simplest but most important of instruments ever invented ‘paper and pen’, so as to write down flashes of inspiration when they come. Most of us are full of ideas but lost them because we don’t pen them down. Remember that the smallest pen is bigger and better than the biggest brain, As we go about our endeavours  put in practice the act of jotting.

We beheld what we did and what we left

Regret

We beheld what we did and what we left
All we see is our choice of yesterday
Yesterday is gone but our choice remain until now
I dread the most peaceful nagative force of yesterday
REGRET
I have heard the history of both great and small
I have heard the echo of the phrase “had I know”
The worst at Such time is that , time is gone The remedy is therefore
A balance of wisdom, age and choice
Therefore choose to age with wisdom
Let wisdom be your companion
So as to have a life devoid of regret
Be deliberate about life
Be deliberate about choice
Be deliberately about wisdom.
And if you already have one , don’t beat yourself up over it
Beating yourself up over a mistake you made
Is only going to make you more inclined to do it again.
Just jejely accept that it happened
learn the lessons
throw the pains and move on.
